The 40-year-old Nigerian-French singer Asa sued Joeboy for illegally using her composition on his new song. In August, Joeboy premiered his sophomore song titled Contour. In a copyright infringement notice drafted and shared by her legal counsels on September 30, Asa accused Joeboy of using her musical composition on his new song “Contour” without her permission. The Ministry of Niger Delta has made public, plans to partner with the private sector for the establishment of a modular refinery in the Niger Delta region. This was made known via a communiqué issued at the end of the 5th meeting of the National Council On Niger Delta (NCND) held at Ibom Icon and Golf Resort, Uyo, Akwa Ibom state from Monday 12th through Thursday 15th September 2022. The gang mined the track forcing the train, carrying 970 passengers, to a stop on Monday evening. Gunmen subsequently surrounded the carriages and opened fire, one passenger told the BBC. An unknown number of passengers were abducted from the train, considered the safest way to get between the cities. Kidnapping for ransom has become commonplace across Nigeria. The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) on Monday stormed the palace of the Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado-Bayero, to protest against the strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). ASUU last week began a four-week strike to compel the Nigerian government to accede to its requests for more spendings on public universities. ASUU had, following a marathon meeting at the University of Lagos, (UNILAG) Akoka, declared the warning strike, starting from Monday, February 14, to protest the government’s failure to implement its agreement with the union.
